Field researcher

Duties & Responsibilities

Collection of primary data through extensive consultations with beneficiaries at the village level including interview and meeting with beneficiaries and other stakeholders. He / She will conduct surveys / interviews according to the tools and the field plan provided by the TAGHEER field / data manager. Take pictures from the site and fill all site forms while abiding by the data handling ethics explained by the TAGHEER field / data manager during the training.

Job Requirement

• Bachelor’s or Masters Degree with minimum 1 year data collection experience
• 12 or 14 years diploma with minimum 2 years data collection experience
• Good network and understanding of the beneficiaries and stakeholders in his / her province of engagement.
• Work experience in Kobo Collect or Kobo Toolbox App is a plus
• Fluency in Dari and Pashto depending on the province he / she works for
• He / she should be able to translate the interview notes from local language (Dari or Pashto) to English
• Ability to travel to the project sites in his / her province of engagement

Required Qualification

• Minimum Education
  • Bachelor / Master degree in the relevant fields above or at minimum a degree in social science, business administration / management, and monitoring & evaluation

• Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in the relevant fields above for a Master degree holder
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in the relevant fields above for a Bachelor degree holder
  • Minimum 1 year of working experience in the relevant fields above for a Ph.D. scholar
  • Local knowledge of their sector from the above list in Afghanistan is a must

• Skills
  • Fluency in spoken and written English, and one of the local languages (Pashto / Dari)
  • Computer literate
  • Data analysis skills is a plus
