There is a thin line between trust to build confidence and compliance to build capacity:

One of our recent studies revealed performance differences between the randomly picked observation sites / surprise visits compared to the pre-planned and coordinated visits. The random / surprise visits revealed low performance / results of the situation / arrangements and available facilities.

While I highly encourage on-boarding clients for monitoring their interventions, I also learn that there is little use of the monitoring reports developed following the early / pre- preparation bias as most you see on the report then is rosy 🙂
